Wow what a weekend, this meeting was either going to make us or break us and the awesome feedback took a huge weight off our shoulders. From the entire Wellington crew we thank all the competitors that traveled to event. A special thanks to the ladies from hawkes bay that helped out with the lap timing. Huge thanks to sparky for the use of the bloody thing. I haven’t seen that many quick 3-4 kg cars take to the wooden floor with vengeance for ages and it was magic to see. A warm thanks goes to the ladies behind the BBQ as a couple stayed cooking for the entire weekend Highlights of the weekend would have been the huge roar when Rolly got *stuck* on the infield. Pumba from the hawkes bay had his car set up to maintain his corner speed who incidentally got fastest lap time with a mid 6 sec lap. Karlos had his *prototype* metal bodied street stock out with waynes dukes of hazard ( Touring car) police car. They were both matched for speed until one of them decided to turn around and play chicken. The look on waynes face was priceless when they hit head on and the police car stopped dead in its tracks, and the streetstock carried on Well done to the Wellington B team who took out top spot, well done to hawkes bay who gave them a serious run for their money….. 15 points was all that was in it. The B main final gave us the hb rookies who had no captain until *Uncle Tom* took em on and they came away with a well deserved win. The Christchurch guys came up with no teams experience and took away a 3 rd place and lots of smiles Brilliant weekend had by all and thanks for the good time Grunta get set and away they go the hawkes bay rookies The party And after just one glass and close behind after half a glass

WOW what a great weekend - well done Wellington club...For once i have to agree with everything Grunta has said!
To the bombsquad congratulations. You deserve the title and showed what is required to win this event. Skilled drivers pedalling quick cars...the new standard has been set.
To Jenny (Pinklady) whose commitmant in putting together the race programs and running the scoring system and who is the silent champion of our club AWESOME EFFORT. 130 races over the 2 days is a huge task, yet went really well and that is due to her effort. Don't be fooled people this was a huge amount of work and the weekend wouldnt have been what it was without her.....
To the new teams thank you for being competitive but more importantly for being at the event. We can only grow this sport by new faces and teams becoming involved...It was a pleasure to meet some of the new faces and catch up with some of the old ones....It was also awesome to see the standard of the chassis designs and the speed of these cars....
To the HB Rookies you did us proud. If we left the old mans age out of the equation the average age of these young men is 11, yet they pedalled their cars with skill beyond their years and won plenty of races...Its in these guys that our club's future is and all clubs need to find the youngsters so that we continue to grow as a sport.
Finally to Kerrie, Jeff and Richard thank you for the pleasure in racing with you. We had a blast and achieved far more than I hoped for. Bring on 2009!
Cheers

Well now that I have had a day to recover ;D..... Big congrats to the Wellington Bombsquad for taking the title out and Hawkes Bay Heat for coming so so close! Wellington club you ran an awesome meeting, the track was mint and the surface was just the best surface to run on! Top stuff to everyone behind the scene that helped put the event together. Jenny (Pinklady) for lapscoring 100+ races according to Sparky and putting up with the "Wanga Wanga" team sorting out and car sorting out before each race hehehe. Grunta it was lovely hearing your voice on the microphone over the weekend hehe Mr Stopable done a good job of hiding his birthday on Sunday so Happy Birthday for that Jeff. Thanks heaps to Robert (Madman) for welding up my chassis at his place, without that we wouldve been 2 cars down on Sunday and also Karlos for helping bend it back into place and helping me get it sorted to do the 2 qualifying races. OHHH and thanks to Jayden & Clay from HB Rookies for rolling me making it bend hehehe, you guys made the weekend that much better on and off the track you were entertaining! Rolly we all know you wanted that bling on my car real bad and thinking now it was funny hidding my car on Saturday night lol, stand up turn around and what the cars gone... AGAIN!!! lol Mad Maori for buying us some coke hehe, oh that $40 on the docket well yeh we saw what else you bort for yourself ;P Heath, Chris & Nick from Christchurch, you guys are complete wackos and a right crack up the sayings you come up with were well wack! Thanks for the battery aswell that got me home 2nd in the all in wooop. Marcus and the Stratford guys for a resonabley entertaining skid at Daytona and having a laugh during the weekend. And also Redneck, Mully, Morrie and Kallum for an awesome first race. Justin, Jock & the other Mount driver (sorry forgot your name), you guys were like the Christchurch lads, funny as and just added that extra spark of laughter to the weekend. Then to my team Garry, Kyle, Jayden & Dylan it was great racing with you guys and having a skid in different cars during the weekend was alot of fun. I think next year we need to turn up on the Thursday to get our cars ready lol! And also to Mum aka Garrys wife for looking after us with Hot Chocy & Muesli Bars ;D. Just one thing, the elderly man videoing in Turn 1, did he manage to get enough parts to build his own car? He was pretty sure that he would find enough parts on the track by the end of the meeting to build himself one... Again thanks to everyone I loved the meeting, giving and taking slack it was all good and fun and just catch up with everyone. Bring on 2009!!! Cheers Stu - Stockyboy, Wanganui Warrior 17v

Was an outstandingly awesome weekend, if not a little tiring ;D Firstly big thanks to Deccy for the ring in, did a fantastic job and you really made the weekend for us. Second, Springninja aka Richard, without the last minute borrowing of your esc my car wouldnt have been going anywhere near as well. Wellington guys, put on a great, smoothly run event, was a pleasure to to partake in it. Nice to put a name to faces and meet a whole bunch of great guys. Simply amazed me the ages of all the competitors and the skill level from some of the young and old. Wangaz boys, you're an interisting lot thats for sure , and I didnt mind helping you out, the More competitors the merrier as far as Im concerned (even though jayden did smoke my nice yok motor) ;D Had some great times and made a whole heap of mates. 55min Enduro go-carting was stellar - apart from the brusies and blisters the next day - though I doubt many of you nana's got them due to your speed - or lack there of One thing is for certain, we'll be back bigger, badder than ever in black next year Cheers,Chris

Thanks to Xtreme RC Club, awesome event, brilliant venue, smoothly run, apart from the idiot on the mic ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D and your hospitality was XTREME Jen, the time you gave is a credit to your commitment, or was it you drew the short straw, either way, it was greatly appreciated. To the fellow first time teams, Crushers, Rednecks, Scappers, Bulldogs, HB Rookies and the Wanga Boys, awesome, the teams can only get better. A special mention to the Tornado's Team members, Rolly, Carlo, and Beanie, 4 outta 5 in the finals aint too bad for a rag tag team of misfits and rule benders Also have to thank our sponsors, Mad Maori Racing, NZ Stockcar Models and Quality Signs See ya next year Cheers madmaori
